2012 Participant Registration Now Open!!!

It's that time of year again! The third annual Armchair BEA is quickly approaching and in an effort to get things going well in advance we'd like to open up participant registration today!

So, what exactly does being a participant entail? First and foremost, you'll be able to celebrate and participate in an event that happens each year in New York City, Book Expo America, from the comfort of your very own home, hopefully a snugly armchair! Secondly, and we hope equally as important, you'll be able to meet new book bloggers and join together in a celebration of the wonderful community that comes out of book blogging. Last year we had over 600 participants, so you're bound to meet some new great bookish friends! Lastly, it means participating, however you're able to. This can be by posting, tweeting, discussing, or even by simply reading and commenting on participating blogs. Your level of participation is entirely up to you, but we hope you'll find something to get you involved in this fabulous event!

Each of us has an entirely valid reason for not being able to make to BEA in NYC, including many of the organizers. Because of that the organizers and publicity team are working hard behind the scenes to give you an event that you won't soon forget! Here are just a few comments from participants last year...

"This was my first Armchair BEA, and while I hope to make it to the actual BEA next year, this would definitely suffice! I had such a great time. Thanks so much!!" - Mickey from I'm a Book Shark

"ArmchairBEA has been awesome! Am looking forward to participating again next year!" - Gemma from my Teenage Dreams

"Kudos and thank you for organizing and running such a lovley event! You should all be very proud of yourselves. You have really brought the book blog community together this week :) Thank you!" - Jenny from Jenny Loves to Read

This year we have another fantastic week planned and we've already announced the 2012 agenda! Feel free to jump over to it and start getting excited for everything to come! Also, if you haven't signed up to be a volunteer for the commenting committee please take a minute to check that out as well!

Again, we hope you'll find something to get you involved at whatever level you decide! We're extremely excited for our third annual Armchair BEA and we can't wait to get started! Feel free to direct any questions you have to either the comments below or our email (armchairbea {at} gmail {dot} com).

To participate, go ahead and fill out the form below and follow us on Twitter for up to the date information on what's to come!

  1. This sounds fabulous, but I'm unclear about what happens if I sign my website onto the form above--i.e., will I receive emails, if so, how many, or is it just a list of participants, or.....?

  2. Shelley ... You may receive an email or two, but really it is just for the participant directory (link above in the menu). We promise to not spam you! :)

  5. Is Armchair BEA open to bloggers only, no booksellers?

  6. Carl ... Without a blog, it may be difficult to participate in the daily topics, but you are definitely still able to join in the fun right here on the site and the Twitter parties (if you are on Twitter)! We would love to have you!

  8. Beckie ... You are registered, but I have not yet added you to the list. We have to manually add everyone, so please do not re-register! All new participants should be added before I head to bed tonight!
