Nurturing Book Blogging Relationships

Today's suggested posting topic is all about Relationships!

Yesterday we talked about networking, reaching out to those people in the book blogging community. Networking is a great way to meet people but what about maintaining those connections? As we build our blogs, people comment on our posts, drop us emails, contact us on Twitter, etc. Sometimes those brief connections grow into relationships.

Today post about a relationship you’ve formed with a particular publisher, author, blogger, or bookstore. Or you could give us your best tips on working with publishers and authors, like how and when to ask for ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies), dealing with review requests, etc. Kristi from The Story Siren did a whole series on publishers interactions, what has been your experience? Is there something you wish someone would have told you?

To turn the tables, you can talk about how you'd like to be approached by publishers. What is the ideal book pitch?

What about other bloggers? How do you connect with them? Is there a secret? What about authors? How do you maintain a friendship with an author when you're a book blogger? Do you partner with an independent bookstore? How is that experience? What are your tips to other bloggers who want to do the same?

Maybe you have more questions than answers. Now's the time to put it out there and get advice from your fellow bloggers.

Speaking of connecting, both Twitter parties are on today from 10-12 AM EST and 8-10 PM EST. Remember to use the hashtag #armchairbea

What a great post topic for today. It took me ages to write my post. And I can't wait to check out some other blogger's insights!

I'll be sad to see the Armchair BEA end tomorrow, but I hope to stop by for one of the Twitter chats today.

I'm technically not a book blogger but a publisher. So here's my perspective on why I want to nurture relationships with book bloggers.

Greetings from Florida. Wish I was at BEA but this is next best to keep up with old friends and connect with new ones.

I can't remember if I included my Twitter @patebooks

I have nothing to add to the experiences and advice side of things but would really love advice from those of you who know all about nurturing relationships!
