Post-Event Survey: What did you think about Armchair BEA?
Thank you for making the first Armchair BEA - which didn't even exist a month ago - a success beyond what we could have possibly imagined!
Survey now closed. Please check back soon for Armchair BEA 2011!!
Armchair BEA Adjourned!
Only a couple of weeks ago, a few people were chatting on Twitter about celebrating from home while everyone was having fun in New York. Next thing you know, Armchair BEA was born! A few of us banded together, sharing ideas and contributing to getting this site up and rolling, and then spreading the word. I don't think any of us ever thought we would end up with 170+ registered participants and literally hundreds of fabulous posts in literally only thirteen days! Isn't it amazing how much one community can do when we all set our minds to it? As I watched this process from the beginning, I am simply left in amazement and awe and the one word above is the only words I can come up with to explain my feelings!
On behalf of all of the organizers, we want to say . . . .
- Day 1: BEA Related Topics
- Day 2: Bloggers Network with Round Robin Interviews
- Day 3: More BEA Talk & Twitter Party
- Day 4: Book Blogger Convention Roundtable
- Our on-site correspondent Pam from Bookalicious shared three videos: Checking In, Teen Author Carnival, and Impressions.
- And, last but not least, did you see the personal testimonial of choosing Armchair BEA over BEA itself?

Welcome to the Official Opening of Arm Chair BEA 2010
Today is ALL about things BEA oriented. Posts for today should be "bookish" in nature, the kind of things you'd find when looking through the panels and exhibits at BEA. So, if you haven't already, take a look at our BEA Related Topics & Suggestions post and then, get to work! Tell us all about what you'd be learning were you there or even give us a "mini-panel" to attend from your own blog. Your topic does NOT have to be pulled right from the pages of BEA, take some liberty and put together a post that will have people talking. When you think you've got it, come back and link it up below.
We can't wait to hear what everyone comes up with! Please feel free to let us know if you have questions either in the comments or by email. There will be prizes given away as we go to participants selected at random so make sure to link up and comment as much as you have time for! The more you participate the greater the fun and excitement of the event!
So, plug-in the lap top, get a snack, pull up a chair and get ready for the greatest BEA event to ever happen in the comfort of your very own home!
Link Example: There's A Book (Author Signings)
(Linking is only open until the closing ceremonies post on Saturday.)

Choosing Armchair BEA instead of BEA: A testimonial
I have to share this story....As of this morning, we're up over 120 participants - and please don't panic if your name's not showing on the Participants page yet. Updates are coming soon!
Last night my husband called from the road and offered to send me to BEA! He had read my blog post that introduced Armchair BEA and since my summer plans have changed, he thought perhaps this might be a good get-away for me.
You know what I told him? NO --- I would rather stay home and be part of the Armchair BEA festivities. It sounds like such fun --- and with 115 participants and counting, it should be a blast.
Thank you so much for putting on this viritual event. There are many, many of us who greatly appreciate it.
And many thanks to Molly of My Cozy Book Nook for choosing to stay home and Armchair BEA with us!
