Welcome to the 1st Annual Arm Chair BEA!
On behalf of all the Arm Chair BEA Organizers we would like to say thank you for signing up, spreading the word and now participating. We could have never anticipated the interest in this amazing event that started as a simple tweet between a few friends, but we couldn't be happier!
Today is ALL about things BEA oriented. Posts for today should be "bookish" in nature, the kind of things you'd find when looking through the panels and exhibits at BEA. So, if you haven't already, take a look at our BEA Related Topics & Suggestions post and then, get to work! Tell us all about what you'd be learning were you there or even give us a "mini-panel" to attend from your own blog. Your topic does NOT have to be pulled right from the pages of BEA, take some liberty and put together a post that will have people talking. When you think you've got it, come back and link it up below.
We can't wait to hear what everyone comes up with! Please feel free to let us know if you have questions either in the comments or by email. There will be prizes given away as we go to participants selected at random so make sure to link up and comment as much as you have time for! The more you participate the greater the fun and excitement of the event!
So, plug-in the lap top, get a snack, pull up a chair and get ready for the greatest BEA event to ever happen in the comfort of your very own home!
Link Example: There's A Book (Author Signings)
(Linking is only open until the closing ceremonies post on Saturday.)

ReplyDeleteHere is my link til I can get to a desktop.
Thank you, BEA organizers, for your hard work!
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you! I can't wait to read everybody else's posts.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! Thank you all.
ReplyDeleteI hope others add to my list of tips to help get to the "actual" BEA next year!
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you, thank you, thank you, Armchair BEA organizers for all of your effort and hard work for this event!
ReplyDeleteI was so hoping I could go to BEA this year since last year I went but wasn't prepared and felt lost.
ReplyDeleteThis year I am moving.
I can't wait to see how this turns out. Thanks for making this.
Thanks for all your hard work. Can't wait to get to reading all the great posts!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea! Having a great time:)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Steph
Thank you to everyone who is helping to kick off this event in style!! I can't wait to get around to reading everyone's post. But alas, I must get back to work, so it will have to wait until this evening!! :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the time and effort you put into organizing this event! I'm sure it will be great fun! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Now I can "crash" BEA's Twitter feed with some sense of legitimacy. I've reposted you too. KUDOS!

ReplyDeleteHi--
ReplyDeleteI realized that I had posted on the wrong type of topic for the day (sigh) and now have posted on the correct topic for the day, but I messed up my mr. linky-ing, and put the old link in again, and is there any way to fix that????? here is the link number 39 supposed to go to:
http://charlotteslibrary.blogspot.com/2010/05/armchair-bea-value-of-book.html
I am very sorry. Hangs head.
Charlotte . . . This should now be fixed, but just in case, can you stop back by and verify that all looks good for me? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI was a bit put off by the BEA site, but found LibraryJournal.com has an article about the "hot spots" to check out.
ReplyDeleteI went through it and picked out my own booth hopping wish list; the ones I would visit first if I were lucky enough to attend.
Since there is a link back, I encourage others to check it out and see if they agree, or like me, ended up adding a ton of books to my wish list.
Thank you Tif! All is well.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Charlotte! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so to much to the organizers! Also, thanks to everyone who is participating!
ReplyDeleteOk, so I don't have a post up quite yet but I linked. Sorry! You may want to delete me and I'll link another day.
ReplyDeleteMy Armchair BEA post is up. I'm now visiting everybody else's BEA posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks to the Armchair BEA chairs. I'm having a great time reading everyone's posts.
ReplyDeleteToday I imagined myself talking social media with all of you! Hopefully I linked my post correctly above but just in case:

I wanted to complete this earlier at work, but it was blocked for "pornography". Hm. I don't see any naked people here, but I'll keep my eyes open!
ReplyDeleteArmchair BEA is a great idea. Glad to be able to participate. I have been thinking lately about the value of negative reviews, hence my post topic.
ReplyDeleteLoving Armchair BEA!
ReplyDeleteGreat event here. Wish I had time to participate. I'll have to be a lurker this time.
ReplyDeleteWoops! Didn't mean to leave my link here. Sorry! (It IS 12:30 here...)
ReplyDeleteJulie
Looks like you all had a great time!
